Learn How CAC (and You) Serves Northern Perimeter

We’ll have a great meal at our Table Lodge following our Feb. 20 OLM. We always do. Not everyone will be as fortunate, but you can learn how the Community Assistance Center (CAC) takes a holistic approach to preventing hunger and homelessness among our neighbors in need.

And you might learn how we, as a lodge or individual, can help from our Table Lodgepresenter, Jessica Heidish, Volunteer Manager at CAC. Jessica manages all things "volunteer," including engaging and orienting new volunteers, bringing in volunteer groups, organizing group projects, planning for event volunteers, as well as organizing speaking engagements and other community events.

Before joining CAC, Jessica spent 3-1/2 years as the Volunteer Manager at North Fulton Community Charities and close to 10 years in volunteer engagement with Foresters Financial. She also spent several years working as a corporate recruiter.

Jessica has lived in the Atlanta suburbs for long enough that she almost feels like a native Atlantan, but she actually grew up in central Florida and is a proud Florida Gator. (She knows she’s walking into a Dawg House.)

About CAC
CAC is the largest human services organization serving Atlanta’s Northern Perimeter. Supported by more than 400 dedicated monthly volunteers and a strong network of community, corporate, and congregational partners, CAC has been a trusted community resource since 1987. CAC plays a vital role in keeping our community stable by helping families and individuals facing financial hardships due to job loss, medical crises, or family separation.

CAC takes a holistic approach to preventing hunger and homelessness among our neighbors in need. They help clients meet immediate needs and build long-term stability through programs that provide food, clothing, and financial assistance, as well as youth programs, adult education, career services, and free tax preparation.

In 2024, CAC assisted nearly 10,000 individuals, distributed almost one million pounds of food (the equivalent of 800,000 meals), provided $190,000 in clothing vouchers to our Canopy Thrift Store, and helped prevent more than 1,000 evictions.
